Tilly Passes Away – Posted in: Tilly

Tilly may have left our sides today, but she will never leave our hearts.
Tilly was such a bold character, known for her sass and stubbornness, but beneath that strong personality was an incredibly kind heart and loving nature.
Tilly adored calves, often adopting them as her own and watching over them with such tenderness. In her heart, she truly was a mother to all.
She was especially close to Violet. The two became such a pair to watch, almost like two bickering old ladies! They could often be found head-butting each other, or lovingly grooming one another. Tilly would even lie directly underneath Violet’s neck in the barn, simply so she could be as close as possible to her best friend.
I will truly miss watching these two interact with each other. Their friendship was such a special thing to witness, and it will be one of the many memories of Tilly that we carry with us.
Tilly taught us so much about patience, kindness and care, and about what it means to serve another being with love. This was especially true during her final days. We poured so much love into her, and somehow, even then, we felt that love coming back to us.
It was an honour to care for Tilly, to know her, and to be trusted by her. She was deeply loved, right until the very end.
Rest peacefully, beautiful Tilly. You will always be part of our herd, and forever part of our hearts.
